*Qualification, Skill and Experience:*
- Degree / Diploma or Equivalent
- Five years of corrosion control related experience is required.
- NACE Corrosion Technician certification is required.
- Associates of Applied Science degree with additional or higher
levels of NACE certification and corrosion control related experience is
preferred.
- Strong initiative and excellent oral and written communication
skills.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast paced, changing environment with
strong analytical and time management skills.
- Competent knowledge in all facets of corrosion control with in
depth understanding of corrosion mechanisms and mitigation techniques.
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office applications
(Word, Excel, etc.), corrosion database software and associated field
computers.
- Competent knowledge of pipeline operations and the characteristics
of products transported by pipeline.
- Able to proficiently utilize corrosion related testing equipment
including, but not limited to multi-meters, Corrosion Meters, Corrosion
Coupon Retrieval tools, Post exposure Coupon Analysis etc.
*Job Description:*
- Perform and/or coordinate the monitoring and treatment for internal
corrosion of Piping Systems.
- Perform and/or coordinate the installation, replacement and
retrieval of corrosion coupons, monitoring and sample collection from sites.
- Ability to use Corrosion coupon Retrieval tools, replacement of
Coupons and Probes etc.
- Review system-operating data, at least annually, to determine the
need for additional internal corrosion monitoring, cleaning and/or chemical
treatment.
- Periodically perform and/or coordinate the necessary adjustments of
the internal corrosion prevention methods/techniques based upon corrosion
rate data and liquid and solids sample analysis.
- Collect liquid and solids samples for analysis.
- Ability to carry out post exposure Coupon Analysis and calculate
the corrosion rate.
- Maintain appropriate documentation through database recording or
hard copy paperwork.
